A piano is part furniture, part instrument, and part heirloom, and it deserves more than two guys and a hand truck. Prudential Elite Moving has moved uprights, baby grands, and full concert grands across Miami since 2014, using the right equipment and a crew trained specifically for the weight and balance of these instruments. We move it ourselves — this is our service, not something we hand off.
Every piano move starts with a few questions about the instrument and both locations, then a flat written quote. Pianos can run from 300 pounds to well over 1,000, and the price depends on the type, the stairs, and the access at each end, not on guesswork once we’re sweating in your living room.
The Right Gear for the Right Instrument
Uprights, baby grands, and concert grands each move differently. Grands get partially disassembled — legs and lyre removed — then boarded, padded, and strapped to a piano skid. We use proper dollies, ramps, and four-point strapping, never improvised lifts. Our crew protects the finish, the keys, and the internal action so your instrument arrives in tune-ready condition.
Miami adds its own wrinkles: getting a grand out of a Brickell high-rise means a reserved freight elevator and a COI, and squeezing an upright through a 1920s Coral Gables doorway takes finesse. We plan for both.
Condos, Stairs, and Climate Considerations
Stairs are where pianos get damaged and people get hurt, so we bring the crew count and ramps to do it safely, never by brute force. We also mind Miami’s heat and humidity, keeping the instrument wrapped and out of direct sun during transport to protect the soundboard and finish. From a Miami Beach condo to a Pinecrest estate, we handle the whole move start to finish.
