We get a lot of the same questions from Miami families planning a move, so we’ve gathered the most common ones here. If you don’t see your question answered below, give us a call at (888) 711-4778 or email [email protected] and a real member of our team will walk you through it.
How much does a move with Prudential Elite Moving cost?
We give every customer a flat-rate written quote, so the price we agree on is the price you pay. Your cost depends on the size of your home, the distance, and any extras like packing or specialty items. We don't bill by surprise hourly creep. Send us your details and we'll have a clear, all-in quote back to you fast, with no obligation.
Do you require a deposit to book?
For local moves we typically reserve your date without a deposit, and for larger long-distance jobs we may ask for a modest deposit to lock in the crew and truck. Any deposit is applied directly to your final balance and is clearly stated in your written quote. We'll always explain it up front so there are no surprises.
How far in advance should I book my move?
We recommend booking one to two weeks ahead for local Miami moves, and three to four weeks for long-distance relocations or month-end dates. Peak times like the end of the month and summer fill up fast in Miami-Dade. That said, we keep room for short-notice moves, so call us even if your date is days away and we'll do our best to fit you in.
Can you provide a Certificate of Insurance for my building?
Absolutely. Many Miami condos and high-rises in Brickell, Aventura, and Downtown require a Certificate of Insurance before move day. Just send us your building's COI requirements when you book and we'll have our insurer issue the certificate naming your association — usually within a day or two. It's a routine part of how we work in this market.
Do you offer packing services?
Yes, we offer full and partial packing. Our crew can pack your entire home with professional-grade materials, or just handle the fragile and bulky items like dishes, art, and electronics while you do the rest. We bring the boxes, paper, and tape. Packing is quoted separately so you only pay for the level of help you actually want.
How is my stuff protected, and what about valuation coverage?
Our crew pads, wraps, and shrink-wraps your furniture before it ever leaves the house. As a licensed and insured mover, we carry the required liability coverage, and basic released-value protection is included at no extra cost. For high-value households we offer upgraded full-value protection. We'll explain both options clearly so you can choose the coverage that fits your move.
Are there items you won't move?
For safety and legal reasons we can't transport hazardous materials like propane tanks, gasoline, paint, fireworks, or chemicals, and we don't move perishable food or live plants on long-distance jobs. We're also happy to advise on items best moved yourself, like irreplaceable documents and jewelry. Everything else — furniture, appliances, pianos — we handle every day.
What happens if a hurricane or storm hits near my move date?
We live and work in Miami, so we plan around Florida weather every season. If a hurricane warning or severe storm threatens your move date, your crew's safety and your belongings come first — we'll proactively reach out to reschedule at no penalty. We monitor forecasts closely and stay in touch so you're never left guessing during storm season.
Should I tip the movers, and how much?
Tipping is never required and our quote is complete as-is, but it's always appreciated by the crew for hard work in the Miami heat. If you'd like to tip, customers commonly give around 10 to 20 percent of the move cost split among the team, or a flat amount per mover for a job well done. It's entirely up to you and your satisfaction.
Do you handle long-distance and out-of-state moves?
Yes. Alongside local Miami-Dade moves, we handle long-distance relocations across Florida and out of state — popular routes include Miami to Orlando, Tampa, Atlanta, New York, and beyond. We're USDOT registered for interstate moves, and you get the same dedicated crew and flat-rate written quote, with clear delivery timing spelled out before you book.
Do you offer storage if my dates don't line up?
We do. When your move-out and move-in dates don't match, we can arrange clean, secure short-term or long-term storage and handle both legs of the move for you. Your items stay padded and inventoried until you're ready. Just let us know your timeline when you request a quote and we'll build storage into your plan and pricing.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers, and we can take cash for local moves. Payment is collected on completion of your move unless your written quote specifies otherwise. You'll always receive a clear, itemized invoice. We never ask for large upfront cash payments — that's a red flag with any mover, and not how we operate.
What is your cancellation policy?
Plans change, and we get it. You can cancel or reschedule your local move with reasonable notice — typically 48 hours — at no charge. For long-distance moves with a deposit, we'll outline the specific terms in your written quote. The sooner you let us know, the easier it is for us to free up the date and accommodate you on a new one.
Can you move a piano or other specialty items?
Yes. Our crew is trained and equipped to move pianos — uprights, baby grands, and grands — as well as gun safes, large artwork, antiques, and oversized appliances. These items need special padding, dollies, and technique, which we build into your flat-rate quote. Just tell us what you've got when you reach out and we'll make sure the right gear and crew show up.
